The invention relates to a brake shoe for a vehicle. A vehicle brake shoe (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention is provided with: a friction material (10) for braking a wheel by pressing a friction surface (11) against a wheel tread; and a bottom plate (20) having: a support surface (21) that supports the friction material (10); and a claw section (50) that is provided on the support surface (21) and that holds the friction material (10) inside the friction material (10). In a cross-sectional view (XZ cross-sectional view) including an axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the bottom plate (20) and an axis extending in the thickness direction of the friction material (10), the claw portion (50) is bent at a position separated from the support surface (21).
