The invention relates to the technical field of network construction, and provides a method and system for wireless coverage of residential area elevators, and the method comprises the steps: connecting with a core network, and accessing a core network signal source to an access unit; target elevator distribution information is obtained, wherein the target elevator distribution information comprises elevator distribution coordinate information and elevator floor information; based on the elevator distribution coordinate information and the elevator floor information, a building network interface is determined; accessing the core network signal source output by the access unit through a distribution unit, distributing network signals according to a preset distribution rule based on the building network interface, and sending the network signals to the building network interface; a building relay link is used for carrying out Wi-Fi signal conversion on a building network interface access network signal, and elevator car wireless network coverage is carried out through a wireless end radio frequency receiving and transmitting unit. By adopting the method, the technical problem that the wireless network signal intensity in the lift car is unstable in the elevator running process can be solved.
