The invention provides an underwater intelligent inspection robot with an autonomous inspection function, an inspection method and a remote control method. The underwater intelligent inspection robot comprises a robot body, and a propelling device used for pushing the whole robot body to move underwater is installed on the robot body; a visual acquisition module for performing image acquisition on underwater conditions is carried on the machine body; the visual acquisition module is connected with the signal input end of the control module through the communication module; the signal output end of the control module is connected with the propelling device; and a cleaning device for removing foreign matters is mounted below the machine body. The robot can intelligently and regularly overhaul a dam or a hydropower station through machine vision, can clean surrounding garbage, and helps to solve the problems that underwater manual inspection is low in safety, and a traditional detection method is low in efficiency.
