A hybrid vehicle is provided with: a motor as a drive source; a battery for supplying power to the motor; and an engine capable of driving the generator and supplying power to the battery, in which an operation parameter for operating the engine is greater than the forced operation threshold value when the value is lower than the forced operation threshold value, the operation parameter being a parameter of which the value is larger as the operation time of the engine is longer. When the magnitude of the background noise exceeds the noise threshold value, the engine is operated.
