The invention discloses a longitudinal series-parallel hybrid power transmission system and a control method. The longitudinal series-parallel hybrid power transmission system comprises an engine, a P1 motor, a P3 motor and a rear axle. The engine, the P1 motor and the P3 motor are coaxially arranged, and the engine and the P1 motor are connected through a speed increasing mechanism so that power can be transmitted between the engine and the P1 motor. The P3 motor is connected with the rear axle through a speed reducing mechanism so as to realize wheel driving; the speed increasing mechanism and the speed reducing mechanism are connected through a clutch so as to realize connection or disconnection of the engine and the P3 motor; the invention provides a hybrid drive transmission system which meets the functions of pure electric drive, engine direct drive, series/parallel hybrid power transmission and the like and meets the energy-saving and consumption-reducing targets of a whole vehicle. The cylindrical gear is adopted to achieve speed increasing/reducing, the structural design and the part process are simple, the technology is mature, the process cost is low, and the system efficiency is high.
