An air conditioning control apparatus and method may include a light sensor configured to detect an amount of sunshine incident to an interior of a vehicle, and a processor configured to set a correction ratio according to window coloring information of the vehicle, correct a light sensor value detected by the light sensor by using the set correction ratio, and control the vehicle according to the corrected light sensor value. And controlling indoor air conditioning of the vehicle according to the corrected light sensor value.
