The invention relates to the technical field of new energy automobile battery thermal runaway, and discloses a new energy automobile battery thermal runaway judgment and disposal method which comprises the following steps: (1) establishing a model database of battery thermal runaway volatile gas types; (2) monitoring the gas concentration change in the battery through a battery thermal runaway sensor; (3) according to the data detected by the thermal runaway sensor, judging whether to trigger the thermal runaway early warning of the battery; (4) comparing the gas concentration change within a certain time before the thermal runaway early warning is triggered with the model database; (5) judging the type of thermal runaway triggering according to a comparison result; and (6) taking a corresponding coping strategy according to thermal runaway triggering type feedback. The thermal runaway data is compared with the pre-stored data, the thermal runaway type is confirmed, and later treatment and maintenance are guided.
