The present disclosure provides contextual processing and learning for autonomous vehicle control systems. An autonomous vehicle (AV) system includes an AV control system that addresses unique scenarios encountered when operating as a car-hailing provider. The AV control system includes an artificial intelligence (AI) agent programmed to receive as input a contextual data set from a vehicle sensor or from another AI agent. The context data set may include a generic representation of information describing and characterizing the context and details of the current context. The system may access a knowledge base that has listed previous context data sets that describe contexts encountered by an AV or other vehicle in a fleet. The AV control system may search in the knowledge base for similar contexts encountered by fleet vehicles. Once a similar context is identified, the AV control system may identify one or more remedies performed to handle a previous context and perform the remedies to address the current context.
