The invention belongs to the technical field of brake resistors, and particularly discloses a rapid cooling brake resistor which comprises a shell and a resistor body arranged in the shell. The resistor body comprises a plurality of resistor discs, an insulating part and a welding part; the insulating part is fixed along the two sides of the horizontal/vertical direction of the shell and is fixedly connected with the resistor disc; every two adjacent resistor discs are fixedly connected through a welding piece. A lead-out wire is arranged at one end of the resistor body along the horizontal direction of the shell, and is electrically connected with the resistor disc; and a gap is formed between the resistor body and the shell to form a cooling structure. A natural cooling mode is adopted, and the high-voltage direct-current motor has the advantages of being large in working voltage (800 V), high in braking energy, short in starting time and small in inductance value.
