The method comprises the following steps: detecting whether a vehicle runs on an expressway or not, if so, enabling the unmanned aerial vehicle to fly at a first set height in front of the vehicle running direction, and controlling the illumination module to work so as to illuminate the road surface in front of the vehicle running direction. According to the scheme, the construction cost of the expressway is reduced, and the driving illumination requirement of the vehicle is guaranteed.
