The invention provides an elevator fault prediction method and system. The method comprises the steps of carrying out data sampling for an elevator in real time, and obtaining the state parameter information of the elevator; building a gray prediction model by recording the state parameter information of the elevator for a continuous period of time; and predicting the state parameters of the elevator by applying the gray prediction model, and further obtaining the health state condition of the elevator. According to the scheme, various types of parameters of the elevator can be predicted, so that the judgment of the health state of the elevator is more accurate, and most accidents caused by elevator faults can be effectively avoided. Secondly, the gray prediction model of the scheme can becontinuously updated by taking days as units according to an actual sampling result, so that the continuity of prediction is ensured, the prediction accuracy of the state parameter information of theelevator is also ensured, and the judgment accuracy of the health state of the elevator is further improved. The system uses he method to predict the elevator faults.
