The invention discloses a sliding-like gear mechanism and a mobile robot, which relate to the technical field of robots. According to the invention, the sliding-like gear mechanism comprises a first gear and a tooth-missing gear which are fixed on a first shaft, wherein the first gear is supplied with power by a driving mechanism; and the first gear drives the first shaft to rotate. The sliding-like gear mechanism further comprises a sliding mechanism, wherein the sliding mechanism comprises a cam and a push rod; wheel teeth are arranged on the cam; the cam can be engaged with the tooth-missing gear; and the push rod can push the cam so that the cam is engaged or disengaged with the tooth-missing gear. According to the invention, the mobile robot is provided with the sliding-like gear mechanism and also provided with a robot body and a driving wheel. The sliding-like gear mechanism and the mobile robot, disclosed by the invention, can be adjusted their own structures to adapt to variations of outside environment or ground environment and are also simply structured.
