The invention relates to a railway locomotive component, in particular to a manual braking device applied to a railway locomotive. The manual braking device comprises a frame and a unit brake, wherein a gear box is arranged on the frame; a rotary handle is arranged on the gear box; the gear box is provided with a screw rod; the upper end of the screw rod and a gear in the gear box are engaged together, so that the screw rod moves in the vertical direction when the rotary handle drives the gear in the gear box to rotate; a fixed pulley and a pull rod are arranged on the frame; the end, far away from the fixed pulley, of the pull rod is connected with a shifting fork assembling mechanism of the unit brake through a first steel wire rope; the lower end of the screw rod is connected with a second steel wire rope. The manual braking device is characterized in that a movable pulley is fixed at the end, close to the fixed pulley, of the pull rod; the end, far away from the screw rod, of the second steel wire rope bypasses through the fixed pulley and the movable pulley in sequence and is subsequently fixed onto the frame. The manual braking device is high in braking force and is not likely to cause traffic accidents.
