The invention discloses an improved crown block positioning device. The improved crown block positioning device comprises a crown block track, wherein a crown block hoisting arm is arranged on the crown block track in a sliding manner; a sliding slot is formed in the side surface of the crown block track; a brake mechanism is arranged on the crown block hoisting arm; the brake mechanism comprises a hydraulic driving bottom plate; a support block is fixed in the middle of the hydraulic driving bottom plate; airbags are arranged on two sides of the support block; an elastic connection part is arranged on the outer side of each airbag; the support block is located in the sliding slot; the elastic connection parts are arranged on two sides of the sliding slot; the airbags are located in a gap between the support block and the sliding slot; a first brake pad is arranged at the top of the support block; a second brake pad is arranged at the top of each elastic connection part; a temperature sensor is arranged at each of two ends in the moving direction of the crown block hoisting arm; a friction sensor is arranged on any one of the elastic connection parts. The invention also provides a positioning method of the crown block positioning device. According to the improved crown block positioning device and the positioning method of the crown block positioning device, the shortcomings of prior art can be improved; the positioning time is shortened on the premise that the positioning accuracy is ensured.
