The invention discloses a vehicle control method and a vehicle control unit adopting the vehicle control method. According to the principle, when a driver sits on a seat, a pressure detection sensor located below the seat acquires seat pressure detection signals, and at the moment, the vehicle control unit confirms that the driver sits down according to the seat pressure detection signals and immediately sends start allowing signals to an electromotor or engine of a vehicle. Then, the driver engages a gear and treads an accelerator pedal to control the vehicle to run. Compared with the existing mode that an electromotor or engine of a vehicle is controlled by a key or a button to start, the method is more convenient to operate, and the experience feeling of a user is improved.
