The invention relates to a robot steering mechanism, in particular to a variable track type underground exploration robot steering mechanism, and belongs to the mechanical design field. In recent years, the attention to the coal mine safety production becomes the priority among priorities in the accelerated development of coal mine industry; and after mines occur accidents, the scene structure becomes complicated, and unstructured extreme terrain is formed to bring troubles for exploration. Aiming at the problem, a variable track type underground exploration robot is designed; and the robot has obvious advantages in the process of climbing over underground obstacles, but the robot has common defects of a tracked robot in tests, such as slow track turning speed, large turning radius and the like. Therefore, if the variable track type underground exploration robot is demanded to overcome the underground scene complicated environment of a disaster area, the research on the robot steering mechanism is required to be further enhanced; a vehicle steering system is improved to research a steering mechanism suitable for the tracked robot; and useful references are provided for the coal mine safety production.
