The invention discloses an intelligent security patrol robot and a control system thereof. The robot adopts the host structure of a gyroscope. When the host is provided with a counterweight, the counterweight side of the host of a rotor is made certain to always face the ground, and the robot is prevented from taking up or overturning by detecting the ground distance. Accordingly, the intelligent security patrol robot has the advantages of portability, small and low cost. The control system with the robot can automatically localize the robot and instruct advancing routes to the object and has the local sound, light and electric alarm and self-defense functions of temperature, humidity, smoke, fire catching, poisonous gas, super loud, quick object moving, recording, video taking, approaching, touch and moving.
