The invention discloses a torque control method and a torque control device of an electric vehicle. The torque control method of the electric vehicle comprises the steps of obtaining maximum discharge power of a battery, SOC of the battery, a current speed and a temperature of the battery of the electric vehicle; obtaining SOC protection power of the battery according to the maximum discharge power of the battery and the SOC of the battery; obtaining temperature protection power of the battery according to the SOC protection power of the battery and the temperature of the battery; obtaining first protection power according to the maximum discharge power of the battery and the temperature protection power of the battery; obtaining second protection power according to the current speed; and obtaining protection power of the vehicle according to the first protection power and the second protection power and performing torque control according to the protection power of the vehicle. According to the invention, through controlling the torque of the electric vehicle, the driving comfort can be improved; the normal safe running of the electric vehicle under the conditions of too low or too high temperature and idling of the vehicle is guaranteed; and the damage to the battery can also be avoided.
