The invention discloses a multisource traffic information fusion method for expressways. By fusion of traffic information of roads with detectors, more complete and accurate traffic information can be acquired; by fusion of the data of the roads with the detectors and the historical data, the traffic information of the roads without detectors can be predicted, and the traffic information of the integral roads can be obtained. The multisource traffic information fusion method includes steps of partitioning expressway road units, preprocessing traffic information data, and fusing inside-unit multisource traffic information and inter-unit traffic information. By fusing the traffic information acquired by various methods effectively, information types can be increased, data acquisition range is broadened, cost performance, accuracy and reliability of information acquisition can be effectively improved, and judgement and policy making error caused by failure of single information source is avoided.
