The invention provides an electric vehicle control system and method based on an FPGA. The system comprises a detection unit, an FPGA control unit, a drive unit and an electric vehicle driver motor. The current, voltage and rotation speed signals of the electric vehicle driver motor are collected by the detection unit and combined with a conditioning signal sent by a user to obtain a control signal by the adoption of a vector control algorithm, the control signal is output to the drive unit, the electric vehicle driver motor is driven to work according to the control signal, and therefore the control precision of an electric vehicle is improved, multi-motor expansion capability is enhanced, and cost is low.
