A split type robot comprises a front robot body (001) and a rear robot body (002). The front robot body and the rear robot body are connected and driven through a chain and chain wheel mechanism, and the front robot body and the rear robot body are made to be separated or folded, so that creep walking is achieved; the front end and the rear end of a chain (2) are arranged on the front robot body and the rear robot body respectively, and a chain wheel (3) is arranged in the front robot body or the rear robot body; a limiting mechanism is arranged on the periphery of the chain, and under the action of the limiting mechanism, chain sections between the chain wheel and the rear end of the chain or the front end of the chain are collinear; and the chain is provided with containing space, and the containing space contains flexible connecting parts between the front robot body and the rear robot body. Large thrust can be transmitted to the split type robot, and due to the large reciprocating stroke, layout of pipelines such as a vacuum tube pipeline, a power line, a control line and the like can be taken into account. The structure of the robot is simplified, and the problem that linear connecting parts of the control line and the like of the split type robot are in a mess and damaged is effectively solved.
