The invention provides an electric locomotive short-distance self-walking device without an external power supply. When an electric locomotive needs to move without the external power supply, a power supply line of the locomotive is converted into a library row position from an operation position, and an electric signal is obtained; the electric signal stimulates an auxiliary power source system in the locomotive; and output power of the auxiliary power source system is used for directly or indirectly driving the locomotive to walk by a short distance. After a locomotive power grid is powered off, an auxiliary energy source of the locomotive is used as an energy source for driving the locomotive to self-walk, so that the problems that after the locomotive loses the external power supply, the locomotive self-walks by the short distance are effectively solved; and in the method, an external auxiliary device does not need to be used for pushing the locomotive and a locomotive inner system is used for self-adjusting completely, so that the auxiliary energy source of the locomotive is used for driving the locomotive to do the short-distance self-walking.
