The invention discloses a safety pedal for a rail transportation platform, which comprises a fixed frame base 400, a sliding frame 500 and a pedal part 600. The pedal part 600 is fixedly arranged at the front end of the sliding frame 500; the sliding frame 500 is connected with the fixed frame base 400 in an inserting manner, carries out telescopic motion and extends out of or retracts into the fixed frame base 400; after the end face of one end of the pedal part 600 is applied by an impact force, all or part of the pedal part 600 falls out of the sliding frame 500. Therefore, in case of a sudden accident that a train runs into the platform, but the safety pedal cannot timely retract, in the first time that a train headstock collides with the extending pedal part, the pedal part partially or completely automatically falls off and a pedal is prevented from further colliding with the train in the running process of the train. Therefore, all the possibilities of causing damage to the rail transportation train or generating harmful effects on operation of the train are avoided to the greatest extent.
