The invention relates to a B pillar for automobile and a manufacturing method. The B pillar for the automobile comprises a B pillar body and is characterized in that the upper part of the B pillar body is a hard region part, the middle part and lower part are soft region parts, and the part between the hard region part and the soft region parts is a transition region; the transition region is about 50 millimeters in height, and the height of the hard region part is 1/3-1/4 of the height of the B pillar body; the hard region part is obtained through a hot forming technology for super high-intensity steel, and the hard region part has a martensitic structure of which the intensity is 1300 to 1500 MPa; the soft region part has a ferrite and pearlitic structure or bainite structure obtained through slow cooling in the hot forming technology for the ultra high-strength steel, and the intensity of the ferrite and pearlitic structure or bainite structure is 500 to 700 MPa; the soft region part is provided with a reinforcing pipe, the reinforcing pipe is a hollow pipe obtained through the hot forming technology for the super high-intensity steel, and the pipe wall thickness of the reinforcing pipe is 1.5 millimeters+/-30%. The manufacturing method is capable of producing a complex geometrical shape according to the B pillar shape; the pipe wall of the hot formed reinforcing pipe is thinner.
