Pitch control assembly and propeller blade assembly having a spider hub comprising a hub and a set of arms spaced circumferentially about the hub and projecting radially from the hub, wherein the set of arms are configured to receive a set of blades such that a blade root of a blade is rotationally mountable into an arm included in the set of arms, a crosshead located within the hub and axially moveable relative to the hub, a torque tube located in the arm and extending into the hub, wherein a pitch angle of the blade can be adjusted by axially moving the crosshead to rotate the torque tube to effect a corresponding rotation of the blade.
