The disclosure relates to a system and method for a link (128) for a track chain (124) in a ground-engaging track system (102). The link (128) has an elongate link body (130) including a first and a second crown (402, 404). The elongate link body (130) includes a shoe surface (132) and a rail surface (134). The shoe surface (132) is configured to contact a track shoe coupled to the elongate link body (130). The rail surface (134) is opposite the shoe surface (132) and has a first end section (302), a middle section (306), and a second end section (304). The first and second crowns (402, 404) on the rail surface (134) each define a convex portion of the rail surface (134). The first crown (402) is positioned on the first end section (302) and the second crown (404) is positioned on the second end section (304). The first and second crowns (402, 404) are configured to delay scallop formation in the rail surface (134).
