Research was directed toward finding suitable mathematical expression for proportionality between stimulus and response, and to evaluating proportionality factor; taking into account that car following models has postulated response as occurring later than stimulus, difference in time was evaluated by regression technique; test car was fitted with 16 mm cine camera, accelerometer and its associated amplifier and recorder, and speed recording device.
