Series of 20 C1A class cargo motorships, being built at Pennsylvania Shipyards, Beaumont, Tex, are equipped with two Nordberg Diesel engines, electrically coupled and driving single propeller through reduction gears; vessels have length oa 413 ft; breadth molded 60 ft, and depth molded 37 ft 6 in., illustrated description of engines, which are 6-cyl units, bore 21-in. and stroke 29-in.
