Methods used in building first three sections of toll expressway of 9. 3 mi total length through some of most rugged coastal terrain in New South Wales, Australia; access to expressway is provided by eight interchanges; climbing lanes are provided where speed of 40,000-lb vehicle falls below 30 mph, traveling either up or down grades; total length of climbing lanes is 10.3 mi; toll collecting facilities are featured.
