23-knot, 8000-ton vessel, launched in 1942, scuttled in 1944 off Toulon, has been raised and is being completed at Chantiers Navals de la Ciotat; propelling machinery consists of twin screw turboelectric equipment; each 36-pole 3-phase synchronous motor is rated at 12,000 shp at 187 rpm; current normally supplied to each motor by 9020 kw 3375 rpm, 2-pole turbo alternator operating at 500 psi and 750 F.
