Salvaging operations carried out on turboelectric passenger ship scuttled by Germans at Toulon in 1944; illustrations show manner in which vessel was raised and floated to drydock for temporary repairing; ship fitted with two turboalternators running at 3384 rpm, each supplying current at 3300 v to 36-pole main propulsion motor.
