Aerodynamics of helicopters discussed and it is concluded that this type of airplane cannot be expected to compete with conventional aircraft on long post war commercial routes where cruising speeds at high altitudes will be over 300 mph; there, however, providing that structural and weight problems can be licked, will be definite short haul, commercial applications.
