Development of system, called DAIR (Driver Aid, Information and Routing), to assist motorist; it relieves driver of much of burden of scanning roadside for traffic signs and of obtaining emergency service or information when required; DAIR offers two-way voice and coded communications between vehicle and Aid and Information Centers; this allows motorist to summon assistance from certified facilities and obtain road information; it provides for reception of voice messages on traffic conditions and emergency situations on road ahead; it reproduces roadside traffic signs on display panel in car.
