Comparative tests both on block and in motor-coach chassis, of 525-cu in. gasoline and 495-cu in. Diesel engine; costs of manufacture and maintenance and present and prospective conditions as to supply and cost of Diesel fuel; lower torque per unit of displacement would make necessary Diesel engine having more cylinders than gasoline engine.
