Aerial surveys were made of traffic on 6-mi section of Gulf Freeway in Houston, Tex; strip photography comprising two continuous stereoscopic photographs taken simultaneously from beginning to end of traffic survey section, and time-lapse photography where individual fixed-size photographs were taken at short intervals of time were investigated and compared for their application to surveys for traffic study purposes; results of survey made for studies accomplished are given and changes needed for making future studies of traffic operations are suggested.
