Tests were carried out at Hamburg Tank; in addition to ensuring optimum resistance and propulsive properties, it was essential that vessel should be able to stop in her own length from half-speed ahead; on completion, very complete progressive and stopping trials were made; power and speed results between ship and model agreed within 6 1/2 per cent. (see also translated abstract in Mar. Engr. and Motorship Bldr., vol. 53, no. 631, Apr. 1930, p. 156)
