Flight operational method for evaluating effectiveness of visual approach and landing aids is based on quantitative appraisal of guidance from given configuration of lights by measuring quality of approach and landing and by determinig pilot's effort in carrying out these maneuvers; flight technical and physiological measurements are made and test results expressed in quality marks by means of interpretation procedure; for simulating consistent and marginal weather conditions cockpit fog simulator was developed; tests are performed on statistical basis.
