Eleven, 3500-ton colliers of "Egee" class on order in French and foreign yards; length oa 322 ft 6 in.; breadth 43 ft 6 in.; depth to main deck 21 ft 2 in.; draft 18 ft 3 in.; fitted with triple expansion steam engine developing 1560 ihp, having cylinders 19 5/8 in. × 35 7/8 in. × 63 in. and stroke of 42 in.; steam is supplied by two cylindrical coal fired boilers fitted with superheaters, working pressure being 185 lb per sq in. and final steam temperature 540 F.
