Four 0-6-0 switching locomotives for Steel Co of Wales built at Castle Engine Works; powered by Mirrless TLST 6-cylinder vertical 4-stroke cold starting Diesel engine equipped with Buechi exhaust gas turbocharger, rated at 480 bhp for 12 hr at 720 rpm and 528 bhp for 1 hr at 720 rpm; engine is direct coupled to main generator, of 6-pole 3-field type, with separately excited and self excited shunt winding and differential series winding to give correct characteristics.
