Costs of maintaining 10-strong fleet at Alpha Coaches (Brighton) Ltd are reduced by operating service station open to public on same premises as bus garage; paper work is cut to absolute minimum in maintenance of vehicles; basis of servicing is monthly check when each chassis is greased and gear box and rear axle oil levels are inspected; fleet consists of Ford buses and parts are replaced and not repaired; buses are purchased new, and run for approximately 3 yr before being exchanged.
