To provide a maintenance work support system that can accurately extract similar failure cases in the past while using onomatopoeic words that mechanically transform abnormal sounds into onomatopoeia.SOLUTION: A maintenance work support system that supports maintenance work of a facility has: a synonym management unit that registers synonyms corresponding to representative onomatopoeic words based on abnormal sounds of the facility; and a case search unit that extracts and presents similar defect cases that occurred in the past based on the representative onomatopoeic words and the synonyms corresponding to the representative onomatopoeic words.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
