Functions, construction, and operating characteristics of truck driveline systems and various types of universal joint-propeller shaft construction used in wide range of applications are reviewed; factors which make up dynamic properties of driveline are considered; to design improved, quieter driveline, careful consideration must be given to joint angles, particularly with nonconstant velocity type joints; use of driveline as isolator, softer mountings and reduction of external excitation from other members is recommended.
