System was installed in new tanker, S/S Mobil Aero, in Mar 1959, and experience after 2 yr of operation is described; data show that cathodic protection, plus minimum ballast in nonanode tanks, plus fresh water rinse, provides most economical operation procedure for type of service conditions discussed.
