Several normal landings with DC-8 were recorded in order to study how pilot lands large jet aircraft; results of this part of program are shown and tentative conclusions drawn; results are used to assess acceptability to pilot of experimental flare-out guidance equipment installed and flight tested in aircraft later, namely, Smiths `paravisual director' (PVD) heads-up display controlled by Smiths-built flare-out computer.
