Research Dept of Grumman Aircraft uses as principal tool, two degree of freedom simulator which permits pilot to translate horizontally over limited distance in response to small tilting motions of control platform on which he is standing; experimentation has shown that balancing reflex controlled devices are manageable over wide range of parameters such as system gain, platform damping, inertia, spring, and platform height above its pivot; basic principles and details of simulator.
