Six 6500-ton vessels of open shelter deck type are being built for Australian Shipbuilding Board; four of vessels constructed by Morts Dock and Eng Co, and two by Evans, Deakin and Co; length oa 405 ft 2 in.; breadth molded 53 ft; depth molded to shelter deck 33 ft; draft loaded 22 ft 6 in.; propelled by Doxford 4-cyl engines developing continuously 2800 bhp at 110 rpm; general arrangement plans of ship are presented.
