F and G type "Secomak" whistles, developed by Service Electric Co; F whistle was installed in Messageries Maritimes flagship, La Marseillaise, in 1950; smaller type G produced for use on diesel engined warship; principle is based on rotary type of siren, and all working parts are completely enclosed to protect them from moisture; sound rotor or impeller rotates inside stator.
