There is much electrical equipment on high-speed maglev trains. Safety and reliability requirements of the power supply system for this onboard equipment are very high. This paper presents a type of new onboard power supply system used for high-speed maglev trains. This new system can provide redundancy and distribute power to the onboard equipment. All the onboard equipment related to the safety of the train operation is supplied by several distributed power supply devices of one power net in parallel or by two power nets at the same time. The failure of part of the power supply devices will not cause danger during the train operation. This system ensures the onboard equipment can be supplied by contactless power at any train speed except stopping. Using this system can reduce the construction costs and maintenance workload. It can also enhance the reliability and safety of high-speed maglev trains.
