With the growth of volume and the increasing articulated trucks on expressways recent years, multi-lane expressways are increasing and the separation of truck and passenger car (“SPCT”) has become a trend of multi-lane expressways and interchanges. The exclusive truck ramps (hereinafter called “ETR”) in the “SPCT”-interchange were taken as object, and their longitudinal slope was studied combined with the dynamic performance of large trucks. A 6-axis articulated truck fully loaded was taken as the target vehicle. Based on dynamic parameters, a climbing model of the truck was established. According to relevant parameters, the maximum longitudinal slope and slope length of “ETR” in the snowy areas were analyzed and the recommended values of the maximum longitudinal slope for the “ETR” were proposed. Finally, “Trucksim,” a dynamics simulation software, was used to analyze the characteristic parameters of the 6-axis articulated truck running on “ETR.” Verification results show that the longitudinal slope proposed of the “SPCT”-interchange is reasonable, and it’s suitable in snow areas.
