The work aims to develop a methodology for analysing decompression modes during depressurization based on a mathematical model. The model will make it possible to theoretically evaluate the effectiveness of the automatic pressure control system and protective equipment when simulating an emergency and at the design stage. To achieve this goal, an analysis of existing approaches to modelling decompression during depressurization was carried out. A simulation model has been developed to assess the effect of depressurization on the parameters of the automatic pressure control system of the rescue suit and decompression on the gas exchange indicators of the body. Computational experiments simulating decompression at different sizes of the opening that occurs during depressurization are carried out. The applied private model of gas exchange of the body allows us to consider the effect of decompression on the dynamics of physiological parameters of the body. Calculation by the formula approximating the Chadov’s line led to the degeneration of the supersaturation coefficient to a value of 1.6, which was expected at a pressure of 760 mm Hg, but using this criterion for spacecraft is still advisable since it can be used in case of emergency.

The developed mathematical model allows us: to describe the processes that occur during the depressurization of the cabin; the time to reach the safe pressure, which can be considered a reserve time for the risk of decompression sickness; and the value of the safe pressure, which can be considered as a criterion for assessing the risk of decompression sickness.
